What's this website about?
In April of 2009, Boaz is setting out on an Un-Road Trip. He's criss-crossing the United States using every mode of transportation except for car. He'll be traversing dozens of states by kayak, bicycle, dog sled, scooter, hot air balloon, horseback, segway, hang glider, fishing boat, crop duster, and whatever else he can find. He'll be documenting the whole journey right here, on this website. You'll be able to track him in real-time through daily, (and sometimes hourly), blogs, photos, and videos. Why an Un-Road Trip? With the price of gas fluctuating unpredictably, it seems like a good time to look beyond our favored mode of transportation. Through the Un-Road Trip, Boaz will have to seek out alternative methods of transportation and put them to the test. By staying away from highways and popular roads, this trip will also be taking a unique path as we trek though often overlooked parts of the country. Through photos, blogs, and videos on this site we'll be creating a unique and interactive media-rich postcard of our country. Can I help? Yes. Please. We're always looking for suggestions or assistance with transportation and accommodations. Click here for more information. Who's this Boaz guy? Boaz may not have done it all, but he's certainly done a lot in his twenty-some years. He started the west coast's only kazoo museum, he's managed a small zoo in the middle east, and he's a Guinness World Record Holder. Boaz has also been producing television and video for over seven years. Starting at New York University, Boaz created the most popular show in NYU-TV's history. After graduating he began Clips & Quips, an offbeat entertainment show, that aired online and on college television stations nationwide for three years. As producer and host of the show he went behind the scenes of Family Guy and The Office, covered the Sundance Film Festival, and interviewed a long roster of guests including George Clooney, Natalie Portman, Wes Anderson, Judi Dench, Will Ferrell, and many more. In 2007, Boaz was hired by Groupee.com to develop and produce a lineup of video programming for their new online music portal. Boaz has done freelance reporting for Current TV, producing segments with Donald Trump and Sarah Silverman. He's appeared numerous times on The WB's Studio 7, Last Call with Carson Daly, and NBC's Today Show. He also plays kazoo with Seattle's jugband sensation, The Dexter Street Stompers. |
